 Every year again
                on August 13th
Starry night

And again on August 13th. Provided there is a Newmoon and no clouds, you can experience one of nature's most exciting wonders. Around 2 a.m. it's raining stars. The Perseid shower is a shower of shooting stars and can be experienced more or less all over the world this night, provided there is a new moon and absolute darkness. Tenerife National Park is one of the most popular places to experience these spectacles. But unfortunately it's not quiet and idyllic. Everywhere on the paths people lie on mats with picnic baskets and look at the sky and when it starts they shout: Viva las Estrellas.

Our Finca Pino Gordo is the real place to experience this natural wonder, because it is located away from the action and in the dark. If you set up a lounger in the orchard around 2 a.m. and look at the sky, you can see the Milky Way opening and the Perseids raining down. And in between there are always the meteorites, which are easy to locate.

Personally, I have experienced this spectacle several times and I felt as if I were the Star Taler Girl from the story and just had to catch the raining stars in an apron. In fact, the stars often only burn out on the ground.
